Bermad irrigation products for nurseries and greenhouses
Bermad are the control-valve specialists, and the line we reach for when a system needs to do something more than open and close. Pressure reducing, pressure sustaining, quick relief, metering hydrometers and air release, in glass-filled nylon for greenhouse and nursery work or metal for mainline duty. If you are trying to hold a set pressure at the far end of a long run, this is the range.
Rated 150 psi; operating range 10–150 psi; adjusting scale and spring 12–40 psi (2-way only) or 12–80 psi
Sizes
3/4", 1", 1½", 2" (DN20–DN50) — globe or angle
Best for
The 200 Series Top Pilot — same integrated pilot and adjustment dial as the IR-12T in the compact 1½"–2" body most greenhouse and nursery zones use. Bermad restricts the warranty to irrigation use only
Threaded globe or angle; 3-way control loop. AC solenoid S-390-T-2W, or S-982 for DC latching
Sizes
1½" & 2" — globe or angle, threaded; Cv 43–47 on 1½", 54–60 on 2"
Best for
Regulates and switches from one body — it holds a constant downstream pressure regardless of demand, and opens or shuts on an electric signal from the controller. That is the combination an automated block wants: no separate zone valve upstream of the regulator. Composite hydro-efficient globe body, single moving part, unobstructed flow path. Excellent low-flow regulation and smooth opening and closing, so it will not slam the line. Four pilot springs cover 3 to 150 psi
Rated 150 psi; operating range 10–150 psi; pilot spring 3–25 psi (green)
Sizes
1½" & 2"
Best for
The 200 Series answer for small agricultural blocks — same pressure-reducing function as the IR-120 in a compact 1½"–2" body. Available with solenoid control for combined regulation and on/off
Rated 150 psi; operating range 7–150 psi; adjusting scale and spring 12–40 psi (2-way only) or 12–80 psi
Connection
Threaded or PVC; 2-way or 3-way control loop
Sizes
1½", 2", 2½", 3" (PVC on 3" and 3"L)
Best for
Bermad’s newer 100 Series design — the pilot is built into the valve top with a high-resolution adjustment dial, so you set the downstream pressure by turning a numbered scale instead of swapping springs. Compact, plug and play, and quick to calibrate accurately in the field. Reduces higher upstream pressure to a constant downstream pressure regardless of flow, and opens fully when line pressure drops below setting
Rated 150 psi; operating range 7–150 psi; pilot spring 3–25 psi (green) and higher ranges
Connection
Threaded, flanged or Victaulic PVC adaptors (3", 4")
Sizes
1½", 2", 2½", 3", 4" (6" on some builds)
Best for
Reduces higher upstream pressure to a lower constant downstream pressure regardless of fluctuating demand, and opens fully if line pressure drops. hYflow "Y" body with a look-through design gives very high flow capacity at low pressure loss. Engineered composite body — no internal bolts or nuts, chemical and cavitation resistant. Unitized Flexible Super Travel (FST) diaphragm regulates accurately and closes smoothly. Available with solenoid control (-55) so one valve both regulates and switches on/off
The metal 400 Series — over 30 years in the market and the best value in the Bermad line. Full-bore seat with an unobstructed flow path; one-piece elastomeric diaphragm vulcanized to a radial seal disc, peripherally supported so it will not distort. Reduces higher upstream pressure to a lower constant downstream pressure. Suits computerized irrigation systems, distribution centers and filter stations
Rated 250 psi; operating range 7–250 psi; pilot spring 12–95 psi (natural) or 15–150 psi (blue/white)
Connection
Ductile iron body, reinforced nylon and brass internals
Sizes
1½", 2", 3", 4"
Best for
A hydrometer and a pressure reducing valve in one unit — meters the water and regulates downstream pressure from the same body, so a zone needs one fitting instead of two. Highest pressure rating in the Bermad irrigation line at 250 psi
Rated 150 psi; operating range 7–150 psi; pilot spring 12–95 psi
Connection
Threaded or flanged; solenoid control
Sizes
1½", 2", 3", 4"
Best for
All-in-one mainline flow meter and pressure reducing valve, with solenoid control added — it meters the water, regulates downstream pressure and switches the zone from one body. Saves fitting a meter, a regulator and a zone valve in series
Threaded globe or angle; 3-way control loop. AC solenoid S-390-T-2W, or S-982 for DC latching
Sizes
1½" & 2" — globe or angle, threaded; Cv 43–47 on 1½", 54–60 on 2"
Best for
Sustains minimum upstream pressure and switches on an electric signal, so one valve prioritises the zone and controls system fill-up. It also relieves excess pressure, protecting the pump and the line. Composite hydro-efficient globe body with a single moving part and excellent low-flow regulation. Four pilot springs cover 3 to 150 psi
Rated 150 psi; operating range 7–150 psi; pilot spring 3–25 psi (green) and higher ranges
Connection
Threaded, flanged or Victaulic PVC adaptors (3", 4")
Sizes
1½", 2", 2½", 3", 4" (6" on some builds)
Best for
Sustains a minimum preset upstream (back) pressure and opens fully once line pressure rises above the setting — it prioritises pressure zones and controls how the system fills up, so remote or elevated plots do not starve while nearer laterals fill. Also prevents lines emptying, and holds backwash pressure on in-field filter stations. hYflow "Y" body for high flow at low loss. Available with solenoid control (-55)
Rated 150 psi; operating range 7–150 psi; pilot spring 3–25 psi (green)
Connection
Cast iron body; threaded or flanged
Sizes
1½", 2", 2½", 3", 4"
Best for
The metal 400 Series sustaining valve. In-line it sustains a minimum preset upstream pressure regardless of fluctuating flow or varying downstream pressure; installed as a relief or circulation valve it dumps line pressure above the preset. Position indicator assembly and flow stem available
Opens fast on a pressure surge to protect the line, then closes slowly to avoid causing a second surge. Use where pump start-up or sudden valve closure can spike the system
Rated 150 psi; operating range 7–150 psi; pilot spring 12–95 psi
Connection
Threaded or flanged; vacuum-sealed register
Sizes
1½", 2", 3", 4"
Best for
Mainline flow meter and pressure sustaining valve in one body — meters the water while holding minimum upstream pressure to a setpoint. The vacuum-sealed register keeps the dial readable after years outdoors
3/4", 1", 1½", 2" (DN20–DN50) — globe or angle; Cv 10 on 3/4"–1", 43–47 on 1½", 54–60 on 2"
Best for
The compact 200 Series equivalent of the IR-11T — 2-way internal control loop, drip-tight close, Trio solenoid with manual override. The size most greenhouse and nursery zones actually need
3/4", 1", 1½", 2" (DN20–DN50) — globe or angle; Cv 10 on 3/4"–1", 43–47 on 1½", 54–60 on 2"
Best for
200 Series electric valve for small blocks and greenhouse zones — same composite body as the 100 Series in a 1½"–2" package. Takes the S-390-T-3W for AC, or the S-392-T-3W for DC latching. Bermad restricts the warranty to irrigation use only
Threaded or plastic flanges, oblique (Y) pattern; adaptable on-site to a range of end connections
Sizes
1½", 2", 2"L, 2½", 3", 4" (to 6"); Cv 58 on 1½"–2", Cv 116 on 2"L–3"
Best for
The 100 Series workhorse electric valve — hydraulically operated, diaphragm actuated, opens and shuts on an electric signal. Engineered composite body in Polyamide 6 with 30% glass fill, industrial grade, no internal bolts or nuts. Light: 2.4 lb at 1½". Takes the S-390-T-3W solenoid for 24 VAC or DC continuous controllers, or the S-982-3W for DC latching
External feed and internal bleed control loop; Trio solenoid mounts on the cover
Sizes
1½", 2", 2½", 3", 4"
Best for
100 Series valve built around a 2-way internal control loop — it closes drip-tight on an electric signal, which matters on a nursery block where a weeping valve wets benches between cycles. The Trio solenoid gives a 3-position manual override (Open, Auto, Close) right at the valve
The metal 400 Series electric valve for mainlines and anywhere a composite body is not wanted. Full-bore seat, unobstructed flow path, one-piece elastomeric diaphragm vulcanized to a radial seal disc
2-way internal control loop; takes the S-392-T-2W latching solenoid
Sizes
3/4", 1", 1½", 2" (DN20–DN50) — globe or angle; Cv 10 on 3/4"–1", 43–47 on 1½", 54–60 on 2"
Best for
200 Series 2-way valve with a latching solenoid — closes drip-tight on a battery pulse, and the Trio solenoid keeps the 3-position manual override at the valve
Threaded globe or angle; takes the S-392-T-3W latching solenoid
Sizes
3/4", 1", 1½", 2" (DN20–DN50) — globe or angle; Cv 10 on 3/4"–1", 43–47 on 1½", 54–60 on 2"
Best for
The 200 Series valve ordered with a latching solenoid instead of the AC one — the small 3/4" and 1" sizes most greenhouse and nursery zones actually use, running off a battery or solar controller. Engineered composite body, NBR diaphragm, stainless spring
Threaded or plastic flanges; takes the S-982-3W latching solenoid
Sizes
1½", 2", 2"L, 2½", 3", 4"
Best for
The 100-DC Series — a double-chambered valve that is fully powered both opening and closing, so it works at low pressure where a single-chamber valve will not, and closes drip-tight. Built for battery and solar controllers: the latching solenoid draws power only in the instant it switches, so a remote block with no mains power can still be automated. Engineered composite body
Rated 150 psi; operating range 7–150 psi; pilot spring 3–25 psi (green), 7–43 psi, 12–95 psi or 15–150 psi
Sizes
1½", 2", 2½", 3", 4"
Best for
Pressure reducing and battery-powered on/off in one valve — it holds a constant downstream pressure and switches on a latching pulse from a DC controller. Double-chambered, so it is fully powered both opening and closing and will work at low pressure where a single-chamber valve stalls. hYflow "Y" body for high flow at low loss. Uses the S-982-3W latching solenoid
Rated 150 psi; operating range 7–150 psi; pilot spring 3–25 psi (green) and higher ranges
Sizes
1½", 2", 2½", 3", 4"
Best for
Pressure sustaining plus battery-powered on/off in one valve — holds minimum upstream pressure so remote or elevated plots do not starve, and switches on a latching pulse. Double-chambered for full-powered opening and closing at low pressure. Uses the S-982-3W latching solenoid
Large-orifice valve for filling and draining — it dumps the air ahead of the water on start-up and lets air back in on shutdown so the pipe cannot collapse under vacuum. It does not bleed air during operation; pair it with an automatic valve or use a C10 combination if you need both
Rated 150 or 175 psi; opens from 0.1 bar (1.5 psi)
Connection
Male threaded, sideways outlet; glass-reinforced nylon body, PBT automatic orifice
Sizes
Male threaded 3/4"–1" (DN20–25); optional 3/4" female threaded outlet for retrofit
Best for
Bleeds the air that keeps accumulating at high points while the system is running under pressure. Trapped air is what quietly adds head loss and cuts flow, and a kinetic valve will not touch it — this is the one that does. Female-threaded outlet option lets it retrofit onto an existing riser
Male threaded 3/4"–1" (DN20–25); optional 3/4" female threaded outlet for retrofit
Best for
Continuous air release like the A10, with a service port (code P) that takes a 1/8" plug for a pressure gauge and a snap-on 90° elbow for a 3/4" connection — so you can gauge the high point without breaking into the line
Straight-flow body with equal inlet and outlet size; threaded side outlet on the 2" for surge protection
Sizes
Threaded 3/4"–1" (DN20–25) and 2" (DN50)
Best for
Kinetic and automatic action in one valve. Surge Protection (code SP) partially closes the kinetic orifice so air discharges slower and the water column does not slam into the closing float — the usual cause of a burst on pump start. Assisted Closing (code AC) available
Straight-flow body passes higher air flow rates than a standard combination valve of the same size — for filling a big submain quickly. Service port takes a 1/4" plug for a pressure gauge
Straight-flow body with equal inlet and outlet; extension with downwards outlet on the 2"
Sizes
Threaded 1" (DN25) and 2" (DN50)
Best for
Surge protection is standard on the 2" — the kinetic orifice partially closes during the second stage of air discharge, so the water column decelerates instead of slamming the float shut. That slam is what splits pipe on pump start. Service ports for a gauge
Straight-flow body with equal inlet and outlet size; three outlet options — sideways, downwards, or circular mushroom surround
Best for
Three outlet configurations from one valve: the mushroom surround discharges evenly all round, the downwards outlet keeps discharged water off the equipment below, and sideways suits a tight pit. Service ports for a pressure gauge
Two standard AA alkaline batteries; wall or valve mounted; built-in rain sensor connection
Sizes
2, 4 or 6 stations
Best for
Independent schedule per valve with up to 5 start times a day, and up to three years on two AA batteries. Built-in rain sensor input so it will skip a cycle after rainfall. Suits drip, sprinkler and micro-sprinkler blocks, flowerpots, rooftops and roadside planting
DC latch valve operation; battery or solar charged; 4G with 2G fallback
Sizes
4 latch outputs, 4 digital inputs
Best for
The smallest Omega — four valves. 16 programs with up to 16 sequential valve operations each, 4 programmable start times or cyclic windows, weekly or cyclic scheduling. Built-in 4G modem with 2G fallback, supporting NB-IoT and CAT-M. Runs offline on 4 LR14 (C size) alkaline batteries, or online from a 9–18 VDC supply — solar panel or grid. IP65 with UV protection. Keeps a log registry covering long offline periods, so nothing is lost when signal drops. Fertigation by volume and irrigation by triggers, with real-time alerts for high and low flow, leaks and clogs
DC latch valve operation; battery or solar charged; 4G with 2G fallback
Sizes
9 latch outputs, 8 digital inputs
Best for
The mid Omega, at nine valves and eight inputs — the most inputs in the range, so it suits a site with several meters or sensors to read.
DC latch valve operation; battery or solar charged; 4G with 2G fallback
Sizes
13 latch outputs, 4 digital inputs
Best for
The largest Omega at thirteen valves. Aimed at small farms wanting scheduling, water-meter reading and monitoring without a wired controller — remote access through the Bermad cloud and phone app. Bermad supply it as a full hydrant if wanted: valve, water meter, solenoid and control together.
BLE 5.1 to a smartphone; syncs with the Bermad cloud
Sizes
One valve and one water meter
Best for
Rugged outdoor-rated controller for a single valve and meter, talking to your phone over Bluetooth locally and syncing to the cloud. The simplest way to put one hydrant under smart control
Cloud-based management system rather than a bare controller — hardware, software and communications together, with analytical tools behind an advanced interface. Volumetric control, so irrigation is measured in water delivered rather than minutes run — This is the battery build — 12 V DC latching outputs, for a head with no power to it.
The full Bermad system — local and central monitoring, analysis and control over cellular. For a grower running several sites from one screen — This is the battery build — 12 V DC latching, including over two-wire.
Cloud-based management system rather than a bare controller — hardware, software and communications together, with analytical tools behind an advanced interface. Volumetric control, so irrigation is measured in water delivered rather than minutes run — This is the mains build — 120/220 V AC with 24 V AC outputs.
The full Bermad system — local and central monitoring, analysis and control over cellular. For a grower running several sites from one screen — This is the mains build — 120/220 V AC with 24 V AC outputs.
Grooved sensor; composite flow tube with two coils
Sizes
DN50 to DN150 (2"–6")
Best for
No moving parts at all — two coils across a composite tube read the voltage the flow induces, so nothing wears and nothing fouls. Light and compact for its size, and it stays accurate at low flow rates where a mechanical meter under-reads. This is the meter Bermad pair with the Omega controllers
DC powered with an integrated battery-powered converter
Sizes
DN50 to DN150 (2"–6")
Best for
Battery-powered electromagnetic meter, so it measures accurately at a remote hydrant with no mains supply. Holds accuracy on low flows in difficult conditions
The IR-900 with a solenoid on top — meters the water and switches the zone from the same body. For an automated block this replaces a meter, a valve and the fittings between them
Flanged; magnetic register; reed switch sensor giving one or two pulse outputs
Sizes
40–300 mm (1½"–12")
Best for
Heavy duty and built for high flow. The magnetic register covers a very wide flow range and is sealed from the water, which is what gives it the long service life. Reed switch gives one or two pulse outputs for a controller. Available as Turbo-Bar-M mechanical or Turbo-Bar-E electronic
Straight-flow flanged body; reed switch sensor with one or two pulse outputs
Sizes
2" (DN50) to 12", flanged — Cv 133 at 2", 222 at 2½", 253 at 3"
Best for
The paddle wheel sits out of the main stream, so suspended matter barely touches the measuring element — that is what lets it hold accuracy on irrigation water that would foul a full-bore turbine. Turbo-IR-M mechanical or Turbo-IR-ME with electronic register
The small end of the Bermad range, from ½" up. Multi-jet gives high accuracy and a steady curve across a wide flow range, with a rotating star for at-a-glance flow indication — you can see whether water is moving without reading the dial
We sell Bermad equipment wholesale to production nurseries, greenhouse operations and horticulture education programs, from our warehouse in Fountain Inn, South Carolina, and ship to growers in all 50 states. Will-call pickup is available during business hours.
The Bermad range published by the manufacturer is larger than what any distributor lists online. If the model, size or spacing you need is not on this page, send the part number or describe the job and we'll quote it. For a full system we would rather see your water source, pressure and crop first: tell us those and we'll help you spec it from the pump to the plant.
